The Power of Logic Pro X
The Power of Logic:
At School of Synthesis we teach LOGIC PRO X in a small class of between 1-8 students to ensure you explore the most important features of this powerful music production tool.
Logic Pro X is the most powerful and comprehensive music making DAW on the market. It's also one of the most complicated pieces of software and this course will enable you to use it's most important features to make music from inception to final bouncing. School of Synthesis Logic Pro tutor Davide Carbone is officially recognised by Apple as an expert in the use of Logic Pro X. Davide has been using Logic Pro for over 20 years and has hosted seminars for Apple in London during that time. He is registered as only one of two Apple certified Logic Pro professionals in the country.
The course is suitable for all people including those that have not used music making software to producers and musicians with a basic understanding of Logic Pro X. This course assumes no experience of Logic Pro X and covers students producing a track from start to finish using Logic Pro X. Please contact the school if you have any specific needs or requirements.
Course content and features:
Logic Pro X as an audio production tool: A comprehensive overview of all the windows and features
Recording, comping, and editing audio within Logic Pro X
Logic Pro X's native Audio FX, Midi FX and software instruments
Using and automating plug-ins and their parameters in Logic Pro X
Transposing, pitching, flexing and stretching audio within Logic Pro X
Advanced midi editing in Logic Pro X
Mixing and mastering techniques in Logic Pro X
Course objectives: by the end of this course you should be able to:
Navigate Logic Pro X using key commands, screensets and hot keys.
Load, record and edit audio within Logic Pro X
Utilise all af the windows and features of Logic Pro X
Set-up customised Logic Pro X templates and interfaces
Understand all effects and software instruments within Logic Pro X
Master a track using the inbuilt tools of Logic Pro X
Each session commences with a group demonstration and discussion, followed by solo work on one of our eight Mac workstations where you will practice set themes and techniques derived from real-world applications of the technology. Upon demonstrating your command of the necessary skills you will be further encouraged to add originality to your recreations and save various versions of your work.
Additional resources and materials:
All hardware and software is supplied, though we recommend students bring a storage device (eg. portable usb or firewire drive) to save and back up all work, and a pen and paper to take notes.
Assessment and feedback:
You will save successive work and will receive regular support, encouragement and feedback from your tutor. All students will be sent a School of Synthesis tote bag containing a t-shirt, sticker and certificate upon the successful completion of the course.
