"Alive" with Ableton Live
At School of Synthesis we cover LIVE in a small class of between 1-8 people to ensure you know this powerful music production tool like never before.
Ableton Live is about getting hands-on and enjoying a fast workflow while making music; for composition, songwriting, recording, production, remixing and live performance. If you'd rather be "making music" than just "using music software," Ableton Live is for you.
Ableton Live is the most popular digital audio workstation for new electronic musicians and is used by all types of live performers from bands to sound artists. It is an incredibly user-friendly and intuitive tool for tasks as varied as multi-track audio recording, MIDI programming and sampling. In this course, Ableton Certified Trainer Mike Callander teaches you how to use its main features to take control of any sound, improve your workflow and capture your creativity.
This course is the perfect place to start if you're new to music production. The course is suitable for beginners to music in general, and also to those with experience in other DAWs who want to explore the Ableton Live software environment. Please contact the school if you have any specific needs or requirements.

Additional resources and materials:
All hardware and software is supplied, though we recommend students bring a storage device (eg. portable usb drive) to save and back up all work, and a pen and paper to take notes.
Assessment and feedback:
You will save successive work and will receive regular support, encouragement and feedback from your tutor. All students will be sent a School of Synthesis tote bag containing a t-shirt, sticker and certificate upon the successful completion of the course. At the conclusion of the course you will be invited to leave feedback and evaluate your experience, at which point we'll email you a link to a suite of exclusive sounds and various discount offers from the School and its partners to say 'thanks'!
