Logic Pro X Advanced:
At School of Synthesis we teach LOGIC PRO X in a small class of between 1-8 students to ensure you are making your own music in weeks whilst learning how to use all the features of Logic Pro.

Course Overview:
Learn how to make music using Logic Pro X. Our advanced course will teach you how to record instruments and vocals using the swipe comping feature of Logic Pro X, perform advanced midi editing techniques, perform various advanced flex edits to recorded audio and master all aspects of automation for your tracks. In 4 weeks you will be able to utilise these advanced techniques in all of your own productions.

School of Synthesis Making Music with Logic Pro course designer Davide Carbone is officially recognised by Apple as an expert in the use of Logic Pro X. Davide has been using Logic Pro for over 20 years and has hosted seminars for Apple in London during that time. He is registered as only one of two Apple certified Logic Pro professionals in the country.

Course Level:
The course is suitable for advanced users of Logic Pro X who already have experience with music making software and have a good grasp of the fundamentals of production inside Logic Pro X. This course assumes some experience of Logic Pro X and covers more advanced techniques and topics not covered in our beginners course.

Advanced automation of various plug-ins and their parameters in Logic Pro X

A deep dive into routing and sends within Logic Pro X 

Advanced note and Midi editing in Logic Pro X including humanisation

Flex-time and Flex-pitch for advanced audio editing

Extracting groove templates and applying them to other parts of your track

Course objectives: by the end of this course you should be able to:
Navigate Logic Pro X using advanced key commands and hot keys
Record audio using Swipe Comping within Logic Pro X

Manipulate notes in Piano Roll to impart various forms of humanisation

Use various midi FX in Logic Pro X to hack your workflow

Harness the powerful routing within Logic Pro X to create advanced mix-chains and setup creative sends

Perform advanced automation techniques to speed up your workflow

Each student gets access to detailed Logic Pro X cheat sheets explaining main features in step by step detail which can be used in conjunction with the course and for future reference.

Learning methods:
Each session commences with a group demonstration and discussion, followed by solo work on one of our eight Mac workstations where you will practice set themes and techniques derived from real-world applications of the technology. Upon demonstrating your command of the necessary skills you will be further encouraged to add originality to your recreations and save various versions of your work. 

Additional resources and materials:

All hardware and software is supplied, though we recommend students bring a storage device (eg. portable usb drive) to save and back up all work, and a pen and paper to take notes. 

Assessment and feedback:
You will save successive work and will receive regular support, encouragement and feedback from your tutor. All students will receive a t-shirt, sticker and completion certificate upon the successful completion of the course. At the conclusion of the course you will be invited to leave feedback and evaluate your experience, at which point we'll email you a link to a suite of exclusive sounds and various discount offers from the School and its partners to say ‘thanks'!
