I really enjoyed Davide’s communication style. The information was clear and very easy to digest. Davide ensured everyone in the class had understood each concept before moving on and was great at getting all members to interact in discussions. The skills we learnt are transferable in all genre’s of music and have already seen my production skills improve after a short period. The fact that we all had our own equipment to work on and would consistently receive feedback about how we were progressing with the track we were working on was terrific. I’d recommend this course to anyone looking to demystify EQ, create a consistent and predictable workflow for producing a track, master a vocal track and learn some great imaging techniques to blend your track beautifully.

Before attending the SOS production masterclass, mixing had really been a stab in the dark exercise. From watching conflicting YouTube videos and hearing different theories and techniques, I was never satisfied with the mix of any of my songs. I finally gave in and signed up for the class. It was so well explained and in all honesty, I went in thinking it was either going to be really technical or potentially hard to absorb. But the theory conveyed and the understanding behind all the techniques really made it much easier to take on board. I was blown away by the simplicity of the material, and actually got insight and understanding, rather than just a how to. Mixing is now one of my favourite parts of the production process and it takes a fraction of the time it used to. All expectations were exceeded and I strongly recommend the course to anyone who wants to take their music seriously. You won’t be disappointed.

Describing the SOS Production Masterclass course is easy; “eye-opener” is all I need to say. Davide’s delivery of the subject matter was practical and effective. Everyone in the class had different levels of experience but we all absorbed the course modules with enough confidence to adapt them to our own style. From EQing, to keeping dynamics under control, all the way to arranging and mastering… Today I spend less time correcting and more time creating.

I have been recording and producing indie rock music for years in a home studio environment, but lacked an understanding of the fundamental concepts of sound production, and how to control dynamics and loudness. Being a singer/song writer and guitarist I was initially unsure if the SOS course would be right for me, given its popularity amongst Electronic Music Producers. Having now finished the course, I can definitely say that this course will help anyone wanting to enhance their production abilities, regardless of what type of music they are creating. What I liked about this course was Davide Carbones clear and articulate explanations of the fundamental concepts of mixing and mastering (such as EQ, compression, loudness, metering etc.) I also got a lot out of the reference material and resources provided. Davide proved to be a very caring and helpful instructor, always being open to answering questions and accommodating each student’s specific requests.

I was looking for some formal training to speed up my learning and improve my production skills and was recomended SOS . I attended the “Production Masterclass” and I was impressed by how professionally the course was run. My level of production has improved immensely since completing the course and I now have completed tracks to a professional level and am planning on releasing them and performing live. I would strongly recommend this course to producers of electronic music at all levels and can promise you will have a great time and enjoy learning in a relaxed environment. I will definitely return to complete further courses at SOS !

Music Production has always been something I’ve been passionate about but have struggled to fully dedicate my time to, as is the case with many. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to enrol and study in the SOS Production Masterclass. Davide is laid back and super easy to get along with. He taught us fundamental theory and valuable techniques that have improved my skill set and workflow all whilst maintaining a comfortable and fun learning environment. Davide takes the time to make sure you really understand the concepts, through the use of diagrams and solid explanations. There’s lots of laughs, interesting talks and overall, each class is just a great experience I looked forward to each week. Can’t wait to enrol in the next one

I found the Production Masterclass Mixing & Mastering Course to be an invaluable resource on production techniques. Davide provides clear insight and simple explanation into the why’s and how’s of universal mixing techniques regardless of your DAW or Genre. The Course is constructed in such a way that you can immediately apply the techniques from week one into your home or studio audio production. Davide is a great tutor who demystified both simple and complicated concepts with humour. I’d highly recommend this course to anyone looking to take the first steps into audio production, or brush up on the basics.

Whether you’re a bedroom beatmaker, a seasoned sound wizard or just simply looking for that little bit of magic to bring the best out in your music the SOS Production Masterclass will give you a serious nudge in the right direction. Regardless of your style Davide Carbone will show you the ropes of music production at its core covering in detail critical and often-misunderstood sound shaping tools such as EQ and compression as well as simple and effective Mastering techniques you can do yourself inside any DAW. All those bad habits you’ve developed over time watching online tutorials will be smashed before you know it and the many common myths around needing the best-of-the-best plug-ins to produce great music will be permanently dispelled. Most importantly you’ll reconnect with why you started doing this in the first place…. to have fun!

I did the production masterclass course with Davide Carbone and can’t recommend it highly enough. Despite there being a number of us in the class with varying levels of experience, Davide easily managed to personalise the course for us all whilst still covering all of the required course material. There was a very good balance between theory and hands on practice and it is amazing to be able to draw from his vast personal experience. Genuinely the best investment towards my music making I’ve made since my original decision to start making music when I first purchased Logic.

Doing the Production Masterclass with SOS was a great experience and I’m stoked I found it! I was a self taught producer just using Youtube and friends to learn about production and like many, I think you just have this feeling of “is what I’m doing right now the right way or the wrong way??” This course covered topics I was familiar with and made me more confident in applying them to my music, and even in the short time we were in the classroom I saw improvements in my mixes! Can’t recommend this highly enough for someone with a base-level understanding of digital music production and wants to feel more confident in making great music.

Jean-Paul Adolphe

Davide is a fantastic teacher and really goes into detail where it’s needed but doesn’t spend so long in the weeds that it drags on. This course has made me a better producer and my music is already sounding 10 times better.
